Comedy
It's genre is Comedy so it is obvious to be comedy but the comedy is not vulgar. It shows all the social evils of the country and shows ways to solve them in a humorous way.
Values
This is the only show that teaches us moral values . I think it's good for the children also as they get a lesson when anyone or a child in the society does a mistake. At the end of the episode Taarak Mehta always gives a lesson .
So many fans....
There are around 9,42,32,444 fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma because it is such an interesting serial. It doesn't has overacting as in other serials and is a stress buster.

Her real name is Priya Ahuja/Nidhi. She is a news reporter in the news channel "Kal Tak"(a parody of real life news channel "Aaj Tak". She considers Toofan Express.
Patrakar Popatlal Pandey
His real name is Shyam Pathak. People call him Popatlal. He is a journalist from Toofan Express(a parody of the real-life newspaper Indian Express). He also resides in the society. He is North Indian and hails from Bhopal. He is very cynical and demands everything to be cancelled, with the tag lines "cancel kardo" and "duniya hila doonga". He always carries an umbrella with him. Born on 29 February and tries to marry but that in vain.
Bageshwar Dadukh Udaywala
His real name is Tamay Vekaria. His nick name is Bagha. He is Nattu Kaka's nephew and Jethalal's employee as well. He is funny and creates problem's in Jethalal's life. He always says"jaisi jiski soch". The uncle and nephew both have a great bonding between them.

Natwarlal Prabhashankar Udaywala
His real name is Ghanashyam Nayak. He is called Nattu Kaka in the serial. He is nearly of 60. He speaks english and thinks himself as young and intelligent. He is an employee in Jethalal's electronic shop. He always demands to increase his salary. Whenever Jethalal scolds him, he says "apna mugh se kuch kaha seth ji". He pretends to have a hearing problem.

Goli Hansraj Hathi
His real name is Kush Shah. He is very naughty and often gets scolded from Jethalal and Bhide and in anger they call him Golya.
Komal Hansraj Hathi
His real name is Ambika Ranjankar. He is a modern housewife who always tries to keep a check on his husband's and son's eating habits.
Dr.Hansraj Haithi
His real name is Nirmal Soni .He is a doctor who is himself obese,still fond of eating. He comments as"sahi baat ahi" that means that's right.
Guruucharan Roshan Singh Sodhi
His real name is Samay Shah. His nick-name is Gogi , youngest of all the children in the society and youngest in Tapu Sena. He is just like his father, too afraid of small things

Her real name is Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal. She comes from a Parsi family. She is a housewife with pleasant personality. She speaks Parsi but makes both Parsi and Punjabai dishes .
Roshan Singh Harjeet Singh Sodhi
His real name is Gurucharan Singh. Sodhi lives with his wife and son. He had a love marriage. He and his wife's names are same. He is the owner of a garage and a happy go lucky person. He becomes agressive at times with those who mess with him or with the society members.He often gets scolding from his wife for his habit of drinking and doing party.
Babita Ji
Her real name is Munmun Datta. She is a beautiful lady who is wife of Iyer, Jethalal has a crush on her. She lives in C Wing . She has a milky-white complexion. She is a person with modern thoughts and thinks Daya and Jethalal as her good friends and also opposes her husband when he fights with Jethalal.
Krishnan Subramaniam Iyer/Iyer
His real name is Tanuj Mahashabde. He lives with his beautiful wife and he is totally opposite to her. He is a South Indian hailing from Chennai . He is a well-known scientist. His complexion is dark brown. He become very angry when Jethalal flirts with his wife. He always finds reasons to settle scores at Jethalal Gada.
Sonu
Her real name is Jheel Mehta. She is Bhide's daughter. She is very intelligent and Tapu's best friend. Her father always tries to keep her away from Tapu. She is the tallest child and the only girl in Tapu Sena.
Madhavi Atmanram Bhide
Her real name is Solanika Joshi. She is home-based businesswoman who sells achad and papad to earn extra money. She is a kind woman. She often gets tired of her husband's behaviour. She dresses in a traditional way.
Atmaram Tukaram Bhide
His real name is Mandar Chandwadkar. He is always stuck in his good old times. He is a teacher by profession and also the secretary of the society . He always tries to maintain discipline in the society but no one listens to him . He often calls himself "ekmev secretary". He has love-hate relationship with Jethalal and his family. He has a scooter that never starts. He leaves no chance to complain abot Tapu's mischief.
Anjali Taarak Mehta
Her real name is Neha-K Mehta. She experiments her new diet dishes on her husband. Anjali Taarak Mehta is adietician and feeds her husband only with diet-rich foods such as freshly prepared "bitter-gourd juice and khichdi" . She is a good friend of all ladies of society and also their leader. She helps children in study and gives them lemonade or juice in summer while playing.
Taarak Mehta
His real name is Shailesh Lodha. He is a writer by profession and is the narrtaor of the show. Whenever Jethalal is in problem he acts as his "fire brigade". He is Jethalal's best friend. He is of modern thoughts but never forgets his traditional values. He helps everybody in the society. He is the "Wise Person" of his society.
Sundarlal-sundar
His real name is Mayur Vakani. He is Daya's brother. He often creates problems for Jethalal as he has pay fro his taxis,loans and deliveries. He irritated by Sundar and saves his name on mobile as "Panoti" meaning unlucky person. Daya's too much taking care of Sundar isnot acceptable by Jethalal. Sundar often introduces new schemes to make money.
Champaklal Jayantilal Gada
His real name is Amit Bhatt. He is father of Jethalal and grandfather of Tapu. He scolds Jethalal on pitty issues and when he disrespects Daya. He is of about 60 years. He looks like his father the Late Jayantilal Girdharlal Gada .He is an ideal for everyone. He is kind at heart , religious and goes to temple everyday.

About the serial
The serial is totally based on people's thinking which Taarak Mehta named person is trying to change and he is trying to spread his thoughts and ideas to make a better Society. Well! the name of their society is Gokuldham Society. There are characters in the serial which I will describe in detail. Its format is situational comedy. Its created by sab tv team (Neela Telefilms).It is written by Raju Odedra and Rajan Upadhyay. It is directed by Harshad Joshi . The opening theme is by Shailendra Barve . Its in hindi and country of origin is India. It is broadcasted on channel Sab tv From Monday to Friday at 8.30pm . Its 1st episode was broadcasted on 28 July, 2008. It shows social problems going on in the country through its episodes . It also shows unity and when any problem comes to the society, the whole society becomes united and faces the problem .In this society, people of different religions and regions live together . In every episode they show a problem going on so 'Taarak Mehta' says that it is a problemastic society.
